  • Words cannot express.....

This was our first family trip to mid Greece and we were all pleasantly surprised!

The home was even more breathtaking than the photographs! We arrived in mid August, the location was just perfect with the sea arriving practically at our feet! The water was so clear and so blue that I could not get the kids to come up from the little private beach for the amazing greek lunches that was prepared for us every afternoon with care by the warm and lovely staff . They made us feel like we were royalty!

The home is just breathtaking with impeccable views, various eating areas, pristine gardens and lounging areas that.... well, lets just say we never wanted to leave, and found it very difficult to venture out to do some sightseeing at Delphi and the Meteora.

All I can say is, we are all looking forward to our next trip soon!

All the best to the wonderful Staff at Villa Polyxena and thank you for making our stay such a memorable one!

  • To all the staff at Villa Polyxena.

Thank you for your kindness and above all for the exquisite food! We all left with heavy hearts and even heavier belly's!

I could go on and on about the beauty of the villa, the grounds, the warm Medeterranian sea but what left us all wanting more was the delectable menus prepared for us every day and night by the wonderful staff. The delicious Mousakas and Pastichios, the wonderful evening cocktails and Meze's prepared for us on the deck overlooking the sea. The exquisite lamb roasted on the spit under the full moon on our last night....just magical! Thank you Michali for making my fiance's birthday so very special!! My simple words will not do the memories justice so Thanks again for one of the best vacations we have ever had!

  • We, the Diangelis-Valopi family wish to express our profound thanks and appreciation for the memorable week we spent at Villa Polyxena in July 2014.

Our deepest appreciation goes to the very warm and friendly staff, Mike the House Manager who always makes us feel welcome and to Maria and Soula the housekeepers who tended to our every need and meticulously cleaned the home and rooms to perfection daily. Special thanks to our chef extraordinaire Dina for making every day and night a delectable delight! As always, we were afforded a level of comfort and hospitality that was unsurpassed.

One of the reasons we return to the villa so often is the attention to every detail the owners have placed in creating such a magnificent setting in an even more magnificent backdrop.

In our evaluation, a rating of excellent would be an understatement. Villa Polyxena and the village of Mitjela is simply a hidden jewel, a place you want to make memories and recommend to family and friends.

We can definitely say that Villa Polyxena is our vacation and villa of choice as this is now our third visit in the past 4 years! We look forward to our return in 2015

  • We first learned about Villa Polyxena through family who had booked two weeks at the Villa. My husband and I had planned on going to Mykanos with our family and friends but one look at the website and we changed our plans...

It is now safe to say we were all pleased we did!

The villa was beautiful with amazing art work and a classical Greek design. The staff kept it very clean and took pride in their work. We loved that we had beverages waiting for us upon our arrival and fresh cut flowers in our spacious rooms. The most stunning aspect of all was the fact that the sea was just under out toes. Every room had a view and we literally (as it was described) fell into the inviting sea every morning. There are not many villas in the world that can provide this kind of comfort and access to the sea. Needless to say our family spent the majority of our time on the jetty and small private beach. We hired Jacopo the captain to take us out on several excursions on the speed boat and discovered beautiful little bays just minutes from the villa with breathtaking water. We even went to Skiathos and Skopolos one day and saw the famous “Mama Mia” bays where they filmed many scenes of their movie. Never before have we seen water so clean and so blue not to mention warm! Amazingly for August there was very few boats and people—a breath of fresh air considering all the tourism and boats that we would have had to contend with in Mykonos!! We often ended our sea excursions returning to the pool and unwinding with a nice long sauna. The highlights of our days was dinner by candle light under the stars.

Personally I was never a fan of Greek food before but Dina helped change all that! Her way with food has made me a Greek food fanatic! How we miss her and her home made spanakopitas!

I could go on but will end here by thanking everyone at Villa Polyxena for making our vacation simply fabulous! We wish everyday that we were back there and will be looking forward to returning to paradise soon!

  • We are regular visitors at Villa Polyxena and have always enjoyed our stays immensely!

Apart from the beauty of the villa and the meticulous grounds, what we enjoy most is the atmosphere it provides, this feeling of coming home. Our most memorable moments are those spent on the boat taking tours to the neighboring islands and swimming in the hundreds of little bays nearby. My husband is an avid boats man and enjoys to explore different places every time we go, always remembering the last place he has been. We have our favorite spots to go to and always return to the marvelous restaurant “Manolis” in Trikeri which in our opinion should be world famous!

The simple beauty and tranquility of this small fishing village provides the perfect remedy to recharge from a fast paced New York lifestyle. There is no doubt that Villa Polyxena has become our preferred destination hands down and we always look forward to returning.

  • We have been lucky to have the chance to spend many weeks in the past 8 years at Villa Polyxena and every single time was new adventure! The thing that strikes us most, every time, is the incredible peace while being right on the sea in the middle of August...no tourists! While the rest of Greece is overflowing with boats, Mitzela is peaceful!!

We love the tiny, ancient church facing the villa, like magic to watch all lit up and sit and drink cocktails at night!
I always remember the tennis matches, the water skiing in the bay, the scuba diving and search for lost treasures and full moon trip on the boat to the best fish restaurant in all of the Pagasiticos Gulf!

These are the things we think of every year and desire to return.

Some of our greatest memories with family and friends have been made here! Thanks again!
